TET, or 'introduction to working life,' is an opportunity to experience what it's like to be in a real transport sector workplace. During it, you'll get to observe employees, participate in small tasks, and learn about the diverse roles the transport sector offers.
Yes, you can visit several different (transport sector) companies during your TET placement, if your school allows it. This is a great way to compare different fields and explore various professions. If you wish, you can also include an orientation day at the nearest vocational college offering logistics training during your TET placement. Feel free to communicate your wishes to the company's contact person, and they will help you tailor your TET placement to your preferences!
Select your region and a company that interests you from this page. Inquire with the company's contact person if a TET placement is available at your desired time. Inquire well in advance, at least two weeks before your desired TET placement period. Also, mention if you would like to visit another company or the nearest vocational college offering logistics training during your TET placement. You will receive application instructions from the company's contact person.
The company will advise you on how to prepare. General requirements for a TET placement in the transport sector include safety shoes and a high-visibility vest. It may be possible to borrow shoes from vocational institutions. You can get more information about the required equipment and how to obtain it from each company.
You will receive all necessary practical information from your school and the company where you complete your TET placement. For example, practices regarding meal arrangements vary depending on the company's location and the nature of the work. If anything is unclear, don't hesitate to ask your guidance counselor or the company's contact person!
