Appoint a supervisor to oversee the placement student. Create a simple schedule of tasks for the week. Identify the student's strengths and interests beforehand.
Let the placement student shadow different employees and try out various tasks. Include them in meetings and daily routines — that's the best way to learn. Don't forget the meals: provide lunch or arrange it with the school.
Complete the evaluation form — it's often the placment student's first work reference. Provide positive feedback in writing and areas for development verbally. Confirm with the placement student whether they'd be willing to share their experiences on social media — it's free advertising for your company!
